European Travel Insurance... If you are travelling within  Europe you will need travel insurance to protect you against any unexpected accidents or issues. Due to changing European legislation, you can claim basic healthcare costs using an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), formly known as a E111 form. Travelling anywhere can have its risks - lost luggage or delayed flights being the main, however it is comforting knowing you are covered for a range of benefits whilst travelling.. The European Health Insurance Card is free to UK citizens and provides an extension of NHS benefits throughout Europe. It is not a replacement for travel insurance; however most insurers will expect you to obtain a card before you travel.
