The plan is especially designed to compliment the French National Health Service, which allows various benefits including no medical underwriting or upper age limits. The plan provides comprehensive medical cover throughout France only, if you require cover beyond France, please ask a policy adviser.

Mr & Mrs Smith have a holiday home in the south of France and spend three months of the year there during the summer. The plan would cover them for this period, covering all existing medical conditions whilst in staying in France.

The policy works on the same basis as the world renowned French Healthcare System whereby the EHIC provides a degree of benefit and an insurance contract built onto this pays the difference. This unique approach means that many of the barriers usually associated with Travel Insurance are removed, such as:
Subject to a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 365 days*, you can choose any period of cover that fits your holiday plan starting and terminating on the dates you select. Extra days purchased will be charged by the standard daily rate for the applicable year, without surcharge.
The EHIC Holiday Top up Plan is not designed for those people who take multiple short term trips to France. You will probably be better off using an Annual Multi Trip Travel Insurance plan. However, you may need specific cover if you have pre-existing medical conditions.
