I am single, no mortgage and generous sick pay cover, while would I need any type of health insurance? Sadly this is all too common. It is understandable that Life Insurance would not be attractive with no liabilities and family members to worry about. However, you still run the risk of being long term disabled or suffer a serious life changing disease like Cancer or a Stroke. With no family support behind you, you would be reliant upon state benefits and would likely feel the difference quite quickly. A critical illness plan would provide a cash lump sum (tax free) to enable you to make those life changing decisions, maintain your independence and a standard of living. To compliment this, we would also recommend considering an Income Protection plan to provide a day-to-day income to cover the essential bills, food costs and out-of-pocket expenses.
